Shepard Fairey (Obey) - 2020 -
It is great when music, art, and politics can be combined! I was honored to create a portrait of Snoop Dogg for Rock The Vote, 1 Vote Closer, and OneOpp‘s online voter registration drive, #VoteWithSnoop! I’ve been a fan of Snoop Dogg’s skills as an MC since The Chronic and Doggystyle came out, and I’m always impressed with his seeming ease adapting to virtually every form of media! I’ve met Snoop a few times, and he’s incredibly friendly and kind. More importantly, I’m grateful to Snoop for being outspoken politically, stepping up civically, and showing that it’s never too late to empower oneself by voting! Snoop liked the portrait art I made enough to also team up for this limited edition “Snoop D-O Double G” screen print. Proceeds from which will benefit The Center for Policing Equity.
